I am ELEVEN!

Happy birthday to ME!
Happy birthday to ME!
Happy birthday to Cobi (that's ME!).
Happy birthday to ME!

Okay, the truth is that the people don't exactly know my exact birthday. Not exactly. But it was around the May long weekend in the year people call two-thousand-and-eight. So I am around eleven years old! Isn't that amazing?!?

We celebrated by going to the BEACH!

It was big-beach time. The water was very far out, leaving us with lots and lots of sand for running on and sniffing on. Even the Beach helped to celebrate! I am sure it did this just for ME!

And also the weather was perfect for ME! It was kind-of-sunny-kind-of-cloudy, so it was not too hot. This was very nice. I'm sure this was for ME too!

Did I mention that I am eleven? But I still zoomed after my Ball! Because I am amazing. And I am very sprightly for my age. And I am celebrating ME!

We are beautiful (and the flowers are kind of okay too)

Today we did a Spring photoshoot with our person. This is because we are very beautiful.

Wait, why did Ojo's picture get to go first?

Here is ME:

Our person thought the flowers in our Yard were very pretty. The only thing prettier than the flowers is US! So she put us the photos too. Clearly this makes the flowers even more beautiful.

These pictures were taken after our Walk. Actually it was a zoom with Balls at the Beach. So I was rather tired. But I'm still very beautiful, don't you think?

Ojo did not entirely cooperate. (I still don't know why her picture got to be first.)

She thought it was no fun to be sitting with the flowers when there were far more interesting things to do. Like eat the grass.

But then our person brought out Leftover Chicken, so we agreed to share our prettiness with her and the flowers. We are gorgeous, don't you think?

Ahhhh spring

Spring is here. It feels wonderful. It smells wonderful.

Today we sat in Spring. We did not sniff. We did not watch the birds. We did not look for poop. We just sat and soaked in Spring.

It was very happy to hang out in Spring. And besides, there will be plenty of time for poop eating later.

Oh Ball! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! This is my ode to my Ball!

Oh Ball, how I love you!
Your bounce! Your squish!

I have already chased you down! Again and again!
And now I roll with you in the damp spring grass!
Grr-grr-grr sounds come from my throat!
My back feet bounce in the air!
My fierce and mighty teeth grip you firmly, oh Ball!
And I chew-chew-chew!

I am so happy you came out to play!
Oh Ball, how I love you!

Keys found! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I worked today! This is not unusual. I worked yesterday on our Walk too. But for some reason my person was extra-extra-happy with my work today!

In case you did not know, I have a job as a Thing Finder. If you would like to read more about my job and see a video of me working, you can click here! http://dogdoesntfetch.blogspot.com/2018/08/i-am-amazing-thing-finder-by-ojo.html

I find all sorts of things! This is a very fun job, I love it very much.

Today we went for an extra-long Walk in the forest and at the lake. When we got back to Car, for some reason our person did not open Car for us. Instead she started patting all of her pockets, and then she got more and more upset. She said her keys were missing!

She started pacing back and forth all over the parking lot and the road. She looked on the ground. She looked on the path. She looked inside of Car. But her keys were nowhere to be found!

Cobi tried to make her feel better by pushing into her legs, but this did not help. Our person said, "We just walked for over an hour and a half! My keys are somewhere on that walk! It is wet and raining, and I have a meeting soon! This is Very Bad!"

Our person called for a Rescue. But before the Rescue could come help us, I helped instead!!

Here is how I helped! Our person decided to do the first five minutes of our Walk again while we were waiting for Rescue. She walked very slowly and looked everywhere with her eyes. But then she got smart! She asked me to help!

She said the magic first words, which are, "Ojo, want to work?"

I said YES, yes I do! (I said this by jumping in the air and running towards her full speed.)

She gave me her palm to sniff, and she said the words, "Where's my thing?", and I was off! I used my nose to find all traces of my person's smell!

And guess what?!? I found her keys!!! Aren't I amazing!!

Okay, honestly I do not know why this was so special today. I do this kind of search all the time. Yesterday I found a hard plastic disc hiding stuffed down in some rocks. That was a hard find. Compared to that, the keys weren't hard at all!

But for some reason my person was extra-extra-happy with my work today! She gave me soft goat cheese, right out of the package! AND she gave me pieces of leftover pancake!!

I guess the keys were really really lost!

Zzzzzzzzzzzz (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

My NOSE is taking a nap! This is because it works very hard on our Walks! Does your nose work hard and need naps too?

While my nose is napping, I think I will take a nap too... Good-night!
Zzzzzzzzz.....

Pee Ess Do you see my Momma C's foot in this picture? She is a very comfortable thing to nap upon! Do you like to nap on your people too?

Goodbye Uplands Park

It is that time again. The sad time to say good-bye to our Uplands Park.

Today is the last day that Dogs are allowed in the Park until July. This is because the birds are making babies. Some Dogs, like Ojo, are very disruptive to the baby birds.

I would like to point out that I would not be disruptive to the baby birds. I am Good Dog. I stay on the path, and I walk very slowly and calmly. But our person says there is no rule that says, "Only Dogs that stay on the path are allowed". Instead, the rule says "No Dogs". This is very disappointing, because this Park is one of my Favourite Places Ever.

Tonight we went for a special Walk after dinner to say good-bye to our Park.

The sun was also saying good-bye. The rocks and moss were warm. The air smelled like water and growing plants. The grass had bunny poop in it. (I ate some!)

We walked and sniffed and walked and sniffed while our person pointed her big-black-eye at things. Including us! (Because we are very beautiful in the setting sun, don't you think?)

So this is good-bye to Uplands Park until July. When we come back the grass will be very tall and very brown, and very full of seeds. The dirt will be hard and cracked.

This night, tonight, with the warm rocks and the fresh growing plants, (and the bunny poop!), was the best time at Uplands Park ever.

Good-bye, Park. We'll miss you!

(Are you sure we can't sneak in again tomorrow?)
