Bad for Cobi, but good for ME! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Something bad happened. Cobi had an incident! Her paw made much blood, and this blood got on everything!

Because our person is Canine First Aid Certified (whatever that means), she thought she had the right to do this silly thing to Cobi's back paw! (Doesn't she know that owies need to be licked?)

But do not worry, Cobi will be okay! I sniffed out her injury myself and it will be fine in a few days.

But in the meantime, Cobi had to stay at home with her Food Puzzle Ball while I got to go to the Beach! All by myself, just me and my person!

This was amazing, because normally Cobi is very annoying at the Beach! When I try to chase a stick, she chases me! And pushes me! And tries to herd me! This is very annoying.

But today there was no Cobi! I got to chase and retrieve sticks in peace!

Hurray!

I do love Cobi, but it was way more with my me and my person!

More Beach play on my own soon, please!

How to drink properly

Dear Dog Friends,

I believe that when taking a drink from a watering hole, stream, or puddle, it is important to drink carefully. First of all, if you must put your paws in the water, put your front paws in only. This prevents your back paws from getting wet, and also means that you will not disturb the water. Instead it will stay clean and fresh for drinking.

Unfortunately, this is how Ojo drinks from a watering hole, stream, or puddle.

It is very rude, don't you think?

She makes a mess of the water! It gets muddy and yucky for drinking!

And friends, I hate to tell you this, but sometimes she even pees in the water! Can you believe it!

She is not dainty or careful at all!

Oh Spring! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Oh Spring!
You are still coming!
You are changing all the time!

Right now, you bring me...

Grass to bounce through!

Flowers and bees and butterflies!

Fun walks!

And warm air!

Which is awesome
because
the people will stay outside longer with us
just hanging out
and smelling the flowers!

Oh Spring, we love you!
Hurray for Spring!

A Bad Thing and a Good Thing (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I had a Bad Thing happen. It was yesterday. I ate a yummy Breakfast, but then Breakfast decided to come back to visit! There it was, on the stairs... And I was thirsty, so I went to get a drink, but when I came back Breakfast was gone!

I looked all over, but it was missing! All that was left was the smell of cleaning liquids!

This was terrible! Horrible!

Have you seen my Breakfast??

And then, a Good Thing...

Despite my weakened state from my missing Breakfast, I still caught a Rattie! This is my fourth Rattie in the past week! Aren't I amazing? I am a super-hunter!!!

Hurray for me! (But I'm still looking for my Breakfast!)

The Big Beach: Part Four: Conclusion (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is the final part of my very fun, very exciting story about our Very Big Beach!

For the conclusion, Cobi says I should make sure to point out the happy ending. However, the whole visit was happy, and the ending, when we had to leave the Very Big Beach, was sad. So I will keep focussing on the middle.

The middle was this - running in the warm ocean!

And this - chasing things like shells and  sand dollars!

And this - playing and having fun!

The Very Big Beach was a very special place!

Can we go again sometime?

Good-bye, Very Big Beach!

The End. For real this time. All done.

Wasn't that a happy story?

The Big Beach: Part 3: Dog Friend! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is Part Three of our Very Big Beach story!

On the Very Big Beach I met a Dog friend!

Isn't he handsome? Isn't he fast? Isn't he fun???

Hurry for Dog Friends who like to be chased!

The End! (of part three!)

The Big Beach: Part 2: The CRAB! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is Part Two of our Very Big Beach story! This part of the story is about a crab!

There were many, many crabs at this Beach! (And also little fishes, and sand dollars, and things deep in holes that squired us with water that the people named "clams".)

But THIS creature, THIS crab, wanted to make friends! See how he is waving at us!

He was very interesting. We sniffed him. We tried to play with him.

But he played really rough! His toes kept pinching our noses!

So we went to play with someone else instead.

The End.

Pee Ess I wanted to eat him, but the people said "no". That is sad, isn't it?

The Big Beach: Part 1 (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I am going to tell you all about The Big Beach!

The Beach was so Big, and our fun was so Big, that it will take several days to tell the story! So here is the first part!

Part one of the story is that we went to the Beach! This wasn't one of our normal Beaches. This Beach was VERY BIG! It was a Very Big Beach!

The End!

Oh. Cobi says that isn't a very good story. She says that stories should have action in them.

Okay then. Here is the action:

Cobi ran in the water at the Big Beach!

I ran in the water at the Big Beach!

We all ran lots! Hurray!

The End! (of part one.)
(More tomorrow!)

Pee Ess I am back at work! I caught another Rattie this morning! She was a big fat female rattie! And I have learned from my mistake last week. Today, when I caught the rattie, I grabbed on very tight. I shook my head very hard, several times. Then I let go and flung the rattie across the yard. She was dead right away.

My person says this is good. She says that it is nicer for the rattie. I think it's more boring, because there is less play, but I guess there is also less chance of getting hurt. So I will try to remember this new technique!

This is ME, Ojo The Rat Hunter, signing off for now! Bye friends!

I am seven!

This weekend was my birthday. I am seven!

Seven is a very big number. In order to count that high I need to use all of my paws, plus my tail, plus both my ears. This is very big counting.

Seven means I am becoming wise. Ojo should start listening to me now.

We went on a special trip this weekend, and I am sure it was for my birthday. We climbed high into the snow (I love snow!), and then we played at the Beach! (We will share that tomorrow!) We got extra dinners at bedtime. (Which I'm sure was for me, not because Ojo needed to take her medicine with food.)

And I got a new toy. This is Dragon. Everyone, meet Dragon. Dragon, meet everyone.

Ojo likes Dragon too...

Happy birthday, ME. I am now seven!

The Top of the World, and Snow!!

Today we climbed to the top of the world!

The top of the world is a very special place. Do you know why?

There are many breezes and interesting smells, but most importantly - there is SNOW!!!

Oh snow, how I love you! I have missed you!

There was not very much snow, but it was enough for rolling in, and lying on, and making snowballs for us to chase.

Oh snow, I love you! Can we take you home with us?

Also the top of the world is special because there are many birds. We saw an eagle eating dinner. And also these birds, who are called Whisky Jacks, that are very friendly with people. This one took a cracker out of Momma C's hand before Ojo chased it away!

And speaking of Ojo, thank you friends for all your Power of the Paw you sent us! It is working! There is no infection yet, and the lump on Ojo's face is getting smaller and smaller.

Here she is with Momma C, just so you can see for yourself how well she is doing!
