It's my Gotcha Day!

Hi friends! Ojo here! Today is my Gotcha Day!

I came to live with my family eight years ago today! For my Gotcha Day we went on one of my favourite Walks AND my person gave me baby carrots! I love carrots!

Also, I have to say, having been Gotcha'd for eight years and alive for even longer, I am probably around nine years old now and I am getting Very Wise. You can tell this by the grey on my face, and also because I now know so much about life. I am a Very Good Dog, and my people tell me so every day!

The sun is setting

Hi friends, Ojo here. The sun is setting on our time living on our mountain top. Soon we will be going back to big-house-in-the-city.

I am looking forward to having all my people around! I am also looking forward to spending time with my Yard! But I will miss the big skies and big smells, and all the space to run with so few others here.

This picture is ME, Ojo, in the sunset, thinking about our time living on the mountain.

Hanging out with Ball waiting for Walk

Hi friends, Ojo here! I'm just hanging out with Ball, waiting for my Walk. The people are taking forever. They are so slow. Isn't it Walk time yet?

Sigh. Maybe I'll take a nap. With Ball.

Do your people take too long sometimes? And do you ever nap with a Ball?

I am many-coloured!

Hi friends, Ojo here! I know when most people look at me they see me as having black fur. But I have so many more colours than that! My under-fur is grey. I have wisps of golden in my back hair. And my tummy is white!

Okay, yes, I may also have grey creeping in on my face and paws and ears... I prefer the term "silver", actually. It's more distinguished!

Back to my nap! Happy sleeping, friends!

Not enough sharing

Hi friends, Ojo here!

We went on a Big Walk. The people brought snacks. They only shared a little bit. Since it was a Big Walk I think there should have been Big Sharing, don't you agree?

Come on, please? Look how nicely I am sitting here waiting for you to share your snack!

Also I would like to show you our Snow compared to last year. Even though it is melting we still have Very Much Snow!!

Have a good day, friends!

Sun, snow and sniffing

Now I have a handle, sigh

 Hi friends! Ojo here!

A package came for me! I was very excited! Was it treats? A toy?

But, sadly, the contents were not that good.

My package was a new harness. There is nothing wrong my old harness! But Momma C wants me to have a handle on my back. She says that the snow is melting. She says there are tree wells I could fall into. She says soon there will be running water under the snow I could fall into. And she wants me to have a handle so they can fish me out.

Can you believe it?!? ME?!?!? With a handle!?!?

I would like to say that I have never, ever gotten stuck and needed pulling out. Cobi used to get stuck. And Momma B is the one who kept falling into the snowy creek last fall. Not ME!

But now I have a handle. Sigh.

Okay, yes, I don't look too unhappy.

I did not like it at first. I did not like how it goes under my belly. When they first put it on I puffed out my belly like a Horse getting a saddle put on. And then it seemed like my body was stuck and I could not move, like a Cat with something funny on its body.

But then we went outside and I totally, completely forgot about the harness. With the handle.

It turns out I can still run. And sniff. And play. And roll!

But don't tell anyone. It's kind of embarrassing to have a handle.

You can't see me

Hi friends! Ojo here! Look at that! Chicken is on the Bed! Bad Chicken! He knows he's not allowed on the Bed!

Me? Nope. Not me. I'm not on the Bed. Nuh huh. You must be mistaken. You can't see me anywhere on the Bed. (Can you?)

Snow and sandwiches

Hi friends! Ojo here!

We still have Very Much Snow! It is now crunchy and hard so I can mostly walk on top. This is much better because I can go pretty much anywhere!

Also the chipmunks are very busy running around right now! Also it was sunny and warm! Also I found half a sandwich in the snow! Also I found an apple core in the snow!

Wait, how did you know where I ran off to hide so I could eat my sandwich?

I love crunchy snow that I can zoom on top of that is full of apple cores and sandwiches! I love warm sunshine on my belly and cold snow on my back! What a happy day!!!

Cobi's spot

 Hi friends, Ojo here!

There are two mats in the back of my friend the Car-who-takes-us-fun-places. One is for me, one is for Cobi.

Cobi crossed over the rainbow bridge many months ago. But I still stay on my side and on my mat. I leave Cobi's spot open, just in case she wants to come walking with us sometime.

Happy walking, friends.

Too Much Snow!

Hi friends, Ojo here!

I never thought I would ever say this because I didn't think it was even possible...

But last night we had Too Much Snow! The snow is deeper than my head!

The people are saying that there are three feet of snow. Maybe even more. This doesn't make sense to me. People have two feet, Dogs have four feet. How can snow have three feet?

Still it's a lot.

There are two problems with this much snow.

First, my person spent hours and hours moving it around with a shovel. These are hours she spent outside while I had to wait inside.

Second, because the snow is deeper than my head I cannot go anywhere in it! There is nowhere to run and nowhere to play! There wasn't even anywhere to pee and poop this morning!

Fortunately my person made a flat area for peeing and pooping. This is important. But so is running and playing, and all I could do today was follow behind my person in her slow and boring path.

To show you our snow, my person says I can share these pictures with you. This is my friend, Car, in the snow this morning:

Car couldn't take us anywhere fun today either!

Look very closely at that picture. Do you see the snow hat on top of Car? My person says it was two feet!

And it is still snowing! Have you ever had Too Much Snow??

Frozen horse poop!

Hi friends, Ojo here! Today I found frozen horse poop! I picked it up and threw it in the air! Then I pounced on it! Then I threw it again and I pounced on it again! And then I ATE IT!

Frozen horse poop is fun and delicious!

Would you call this a poopsicle?

I like to sleep with Puffie Too who was Cobi's

Hi friends, Ojo here!

When Cobi walked across the rainbow bridge she left all her toys behind, even her favourite ones. Her favourite toys of all time were Ducky and the two Puffies. Puffie One is light brown and he lives in our big house in the city. Puffie Too is grey and lives up here in our little house on the mountain.

Cobi used to like to snuggle with her Puffies. She would suckle them in her mouth and chew them ever so gently. Whenever she was worried sucking on a Puffie could help make her feel better. The Puffies always had stick-up spikes of fur from where she liked to suck and chew on them. Here is Cobi with her Puffie: https://dogdoesntfetch.blogspot.com/2018/04/puffie.html

Now I guess the Puffies are mine.

There was always a rule that I was not allowed to chew on the Puffies because they were Cobi's favourites and because I am much rougher with my toys. (I like to take the insides out!)

Now that Cobi isn't here to take care of the Puffies any more it is my job. Friends, I still never try to rip the Puffies. I never try to play with them or tear their stuffing out. I only handle the Puffies very, very gently.

I like to sleep with Puffie Too. He makes a good pillow. I carry him carefully into my bed and tuck him under my chin and take a nap. And he still smells like Cobi, just a little bit.

Too much snow?

 Hi friends! Ojo here!

Is there such a thing as Too Much Snow?

(Excuse me, but how do I get out?)

(My person would like to add that she had already cleared the snow from the porch twice today. This was the third time!)

Okay, now how do I get back in??

Snow, and more snow, and rain, and more snow

 Hi friends, Ojo here!

We have had SNOW! And more snow! Then rain. Then snow. Then rain. Then snow. Then rain. Then more snow! And a big storm!

Do you see the snow up to my chest? It was even higher this afternoon, almost over my head! I had to follow in my person's tracks.

It is a good thing I love snow! I don't even mind the rain! But snow is better!
