Dog eat tree

We went to Mt. Doug again today, but we went a different way. We climbed. At the top of the smaller mountain I found another dog. She was eating a tree.

After she left, I tried the tree. It wasn't all that good. I ate a stick instead.

Fog, sun and rain

Today Nature can't seem to make up her mind. It was sunny, then it was foggy, then it was sunny, and now it is just a little bit rainy and windy.

My littlest person did the thing called soccer again this morning, but today it wasn't boring. First Momma B took me for a walk. The fog made everything very quiet.

We didn't stay very long on our walk. When we went back to the soccer place the sun came out. I played with a dog called Buddy. We chased and wrestled for a long time. We rolled in the wet grass. Then, after Buddy had to go, I lay in the sun. What a perfect morning!

Extra walk

Did I miss a sleep? Because if not, today was extra special. Today I got two fun walks. This afternoon we went to the Mt. Doug forest. It felt amazing to be in the forest. I had lots of energy and did lots of running and sniffing.

Tonight I still itch on my back. My people keep looking but can't tell what is making me itch. So Momma C takes the special brush and scratches my back for me. I stay very still, apart from my back leg. For some reason it starts going up and down when she scratches me. I can't help it. It does this on its own.

A scary thing and a quiet beach day

This morning when we dropped my littlest person off at the place she calls "school", something that was shaped a little bit like this was standing out front.

I do not know what this was, but something wasn't right about it. I growled low in my throat to warn my people and to keep this scary thing away from me.

I was very glad when my person drove our car away and it wasn't near me any more. I was even more glad when the car stopped again and we were at the beach. It must be Friday!

I have itchy spots on my back. Both Vet and my people checked and they tell me that it is not fleas or lice. This is good. But it still itches.

The beach was very quiet and peaceful today. I love beach Fridays.

Routines for darkness

It is dark now at night when we go out now after dinner. My person puts Walking Harness on me. I don't really like Walking Harness because it pulls in funny places. But at the same time it means we're going for a walk, so I let her put it on me.

We walk around the neighborhood and I smell things as we go past. My person likes to keep moving on these walks, and she likes it when I walk beside her. When I walk too far in front she suddenly stops moving. I'm not sure why she does this. It's very annoying.

At the end of our walk we go to the park. This is my favourite part. I find it very hard not to walk too far in front of my person when we get close to the park. Because at the park the thing called "laser pointer" comes out and makes The Dot. I run and chase. In between chases my person makes me do silly things like roll over or spin in circles. But I do them really fast because they make The Dot start again.

Then we run home together. I like our new evening routine.

Now it is morning. It is still dark outside, even though we have been up for a long time. I'm not sure why we bother being awake in the morning when it is still dark outside.

To chew

The person called Vet said this is good for my teeth. I like Vet. She can tell my person to buy me one of these any time!

Oh rawhide bone, how wonderful you are...

Someone in my den

Excuse me, but you have your own den. Why are you in mine?

Wind and an itch

Last night it was very windy. I cuddled into my crate-den, but the wind was only outside. Our house kept us warm. I wonder how the chickens did last night? Did their feathers blow in the wind, or did their little house keep them warm?

I have an itchy spot on my back. Momma C got out a special brush and scratched it for me. This felt very good.

Today was a forest day again. The rain has started.

Fall leaves

Last night I did not feel well. My body was very hot. I slept a lot. My person kept feeling my nose, ears and belly, and then giving me more water to drink. I was very thirsty.

Today all is good again. We went to the forest. The leaves were falling from the sky. One landed on my head. It startled me.

Still no rain.

No rain beach day

It is not raining yet, so we got to do Beach Day Friday.

My person spent a lot of time pointing her big black eye at the sky and the water today. I wonder why this was so interesting? Excuse me, but wouldn't you rather take a picture of me?

Here I am stealthy-hunter. Look out, bird!

Wet air

There was much fog today and only a little bit of sun. The sky started to rain, but just a little bit. My nose still tells me that there is much water in the air and there will be more rain soon.

Tomorrow is the day called "Friday". Friday is beach day. I hope tomorrow is not rain.

Oh, what is with all the photos of my tail you ask? I am tired of the thing called "posing". However, when my person is doing something, such as looking through her big black eye, I am always curious. She tells me that my tail is often in the way. But isn't it a beautiful tail? I am very proud of it.

Growly dog

The days are getting very short. When we go to the park after dinner the sun is already gone. There are still dog friends there but they don't stay long.

Tonight out of the dark came a big dog. She jumped on me and pushed me to the ground. I yelped many times to tell her that I didn't like this but she wouldn't let me up. She growled in my face. I think she was mad, but I'm not sure why. When she finally moved away, Momma B led me quickly out of the park.

But then there was Laser Pointer, so everything was good again.

Rearranging the den

Today was a farm day. I played with Buddha.

It is still not raining, but the air today was cold and damp. My nose smells water in the air. I think it will rain soon.

Tonight I felt very silly. I played a game with my littlest person. Then I lay on my back in my crate-den and played with Mr. Squeak. I made lots of pretend growl noises. I pretended to be very fierce. After dinner I rearranged my den. I took the bed part out and shook it. Grrrr. Then I brought my toys onto my bed in its new place in the middle of the floor.

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

Bones

This morning was mostly boring. I spent much time in the house, sleeping in my crate-den.

In the middle of the day, amazing smells started to come out of the oven.

Last time I smelled this I stayed very close and made lots of whining noises to let my person know that I could smell this wonderful thing. My person didn't like this. I got sent to another room. I didn't get to share any of this wonderful smell.

So this time I was very quiet. I was GoodDog. I lay in my crate. I waited. And it worked! The oven door opened. The things that were making the wonderful smell came out. They were BONES! Bones from a cow, cooked, just for me. My person gave me one. It was still warm. It was very wonderful.

Later in the day we went to our park. I met a new dog. She liked to chase a ball. She was very, very fast. I ran with her a few times, then I couldn't keep up any more. Maybe Vet was right. Maybe I have too much weight on me.

The day was very sunny. My person says we are lucky, that usually it is very rainy by now. I am happy that it is sunny. The chickens are happy too. They like to scratch in the ground, especially where Momma C has put hay.

Now I will go back to my bone.

Vet

Yesterday we went to the place called Vet. They were very nice there, until the person (who is also called Vet) tried to stick something in my ear. I didn't like that. I got very scared. I stood by the door to tell the people that I wanted to leave. But they wouldn't let me leave. So I made myself small. My body got very shaky.

The person called Vet was nice though. She petted my body and fed me chicken and beef. I wouldn't mind seeing her again, as long as that thing doesn't come near my ear next time.

Vet did say something funny to my person though. She said that there is too much weight on my body. She said it feels like I am wearing a sweater, when I should be wearing a t-shirt. I'm not sure what this means. Momma B said "less food". That doesn't sound good. But then Momma C said "more exercise". I like the sound of that much better.

Today I went with Momma B to the Mt. Doug forest. She asked me to sit in one place. This is called posing. Then she pointed the big black eye at me. Afterward we played with a stick.

When we got home, there was a strange person in our house. It smelled like my littlest person, but it didn't look like her at all. This made me very uncomfortable. What is this thing called "Halloween"?

Another Beach Friday

The day the people call "Friday" seems to be a beach day. I like Friday.

My person wants to put these photos in first. She says this will "set the scene". If you are bored with these photos, skip down to the photos of me. Those are far more interesting.

Okay, boring stuff done. Now for the good stuff.

We went a long ways around the beach this morning, the farthest ever. Do you see me?

My person says I look like a husky when I do this. What's a husky?

Have I said that I like to climb?
No Momma B, I am Dog, not Mountain Goat.

On the way home from our beach walk, something scary happened. We went to a place called Car Wash. Big scary tentacles attacked our car and shook it back and forth. I think maybe it was a monster trying to get inside to eat us. My person was trying to keep it out. She was holding a towel to her window, but still drool from the monster's mouth was coming inside. I did not like this at all.

But we escaped. Now we are home. Wait, my person is putting her shoes on again. Where are we going now?

My new bed

Okay, I think this will be my bed now. Don't worry, you can sleep in my old bed.

Sun, wind, waves and climbing

Today I went to Dallas Road with Momma B and the people called "GrandmaAndGrandpa". There were many people and many dogs at the beach today.

The sun was out. So was the wind. The waves were large.
I sniffed many interesting smells in the breeze.

I had a few embarassing moments with slippery wet logs, but I still love climbing. I think I love climbing almost as much as chasing. Almost.

Hey everyone, look at me!

Dogs dogs dogs. Fun fun fun. Chase and play.

Okay, that was awesome. Now we're home. Is there any more turkey?

Putting trees in the ground

Today I got to show everyone my farm. There were lots and lots of people, and many dogs too. I ran in many different directions to show Momma B all the neat things. But I didn't run too far. I like to stay close to Momma B.

A while ago, Momma C and I brought many trees to this farm. Today people I knew and people I didn't know worked together to put the roots of the trees in the ground. The little people helped, and the dogs danced through the crowd. I know the trees were much happier when they could feel the earth with their feet.

I love being on the farm.

When we got home, there was a very interesting smell in the house. My nose was busy working all afternoon until the source of the smell came out of the oven. It was TURKEY!

Now my belly is very full. I sleep.
