Dry grass and lady bug

Nature is making sun and warm, and also Nature has turned most of the grass yellow-brown and dry.

Dry grass is FUN! It rustles when we run through it, and it is full of little things like mice and voles.

And lady bugs. There was a lady bug on my head! That is lucky, is it not?

Top of the world! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

We went to visit the Top of the World! It's been a very long time since we've been here, at least a month! That's practically forever! It was amazing to be back and to smell all the smells from all around!

Our person says we have not visited because of the spear grass. She says this is Bad Stuff that can get caught in our paws, or other places. But I think she is just lazy. It is a steep climb to the top of the world!

Hurray for climbing! Do you like to visit high places?

Eyebrows! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I noticed something the other day. Cobi has eyebrows! Light eyebrows that go up and down and all around, and show what she is thinking! Especially when she is mad!

I do not have eyebrows. My face (apart from my mouth) is all black. This is not fair.

So my littlest person helped!

What do you think? Am I not more expressive now? Am I not more serious? More clever-looking?

My new eyebrows even wiggled up and down when I moved my eyes, just like Cobi's!

(By the way, in case you were about to feel sorry for me, these things stuck to my face did not bother me at all! I always have things stuck to my face. Usually it's twigs and branches and leaves and bug-bits and spider webs, all from running through the bushes. So these things? Nothing different! No problem at all! I could have had them on all day!)

Here I am with my littlest person (who is now as tall as my other people). What do you think? Aren't I smart-looking?

What do you mean, you're going to take them off now? No thank you! I would like to keep my eyebrows!

Oh happy Beach day!

It was a very happy day at the Beach!

It was not too hot and not too cold. There was a small wind, but not a big one. There were a few other Dogs, but not too many.

Also Beach was very big.

This was nice! Sometimes Beach is very small. Sometimes it is in the middle. I do not know why  Beach changes like this.

But this visit it was very big. This meant there was much space for Ball to fly! (Go again, Ball! Go again!)

I feel happy! Can we come back again soon?

It's my Gotcha Day! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Today is my Gotcha Day! I have been with my people for THREE YEARS!

This is the picture that the shelter and the rescue group showed of me, before I was Gotcha'd:

This is what Shelter said about me: "Willemina (yes, that is what they called me, don't laugh!) is very sweet, playful, good w other dogs, happy & bouncy."

My people saw my picture with my soft, gentle face, and they saw that write-up, and they decided to meet me!

First I lived with a family. Then I lived on the streets. Then I lived in Shelter where they called me Willemina. Then I lived in Foster-Home-in-Alabama. Then I had to go on an airplane which was very scary. Then I lived in Foster-Home-in-BC where they called me Willie. Then finally my people took me home! They called me Ojo. That is much better.

I was very smart, but my smartness was for things like stealing food off the counter and hiding valuables in the yard. So my people took me to class where I learned to use my smartness in different ways that were less annoying to them! (And still fun for me! Training is awesome!)

I love my family! I am so happy they chose to Gotcah me!

Fog and Quiet

Before we came home from being Away we had one last walk. Nature was making Fog and Quiet.

This was a very pawessome Walk because we had the whole lake-swamp-forest-alpine-meadow to ourselves. Everything was still and quiet. (Except for Ojo.) The wet air held all sorts of interesting smells. It was a very amazing Walk.

We went away! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

We went away! Truck drove us for hours and hours (this was very boring!) until found a place where Spring was just starting!

If you look very carefully in the picture above, you will see Cobi! Also if you look very carefully you will see those white patches! Those were SNOW!

The lake was Very Cold! But fresh and tasty!

Cobi found a snow patch all for herself! She did not want to share. (She LOVES snow!)

Also we had these silly things on our collars that made lots of noise. They were called barebells. We always wear barebells when we go hiking up on our mountain!

Wait. Not barebells. Our person says they are actually Bear Bells. Why Bear Bells?

Wait. There are BEARS??? You didn't tell me that!!!

We hang out

Shhh... Don't tell anyone, but Ojo and I are actually buddies. We hang out all the time.

Here we are hanging out on top of a big rock by a lake, in the middle of a long Walk. If you give us a choice, we often choose to settle close by each other. Not touching. Touching is not cool. But close.

Do you have dog friends to hang out with?

I Cat Named JACK survey my domain

It is I, the Cat Named JACK! I have stolen the Dog Blog.

I am very handsome, am I not? I perch up high, away from the annoying Dogs. Up high is MY domain! Mine! I am the Cat Named JACK!

That was too much writing. I, Cat Named JACK, am now sleepy. Good night.

Are you still here? Go away. I, Cat Named JACK, am trying to nap. Unless you have some CHEESE?

29 Degrees (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Yes, it is 29 degrees Celsius, after dinner, outside right now. (That is 84F for my American friends!)
Yes, I am a black Dog. And yes, I am lying in the sun.

So what?

It is perfect for digesting my dinner.
