Camouflage!

I am hiding! Aren't I clever? I am stealthy, like a Wild Wolf!

Can you find me??

Old

Dear friends,

Apparently I am turning Old.

Do not worry, I am not sick. But I do have an embarrassing problem. When I fall into a deep, happy sleep - I leak. I wake up and there is pee around me. This feels yucky. And it means my mats get washed lots and smell like enzyme cleaner and yucky dryer sheets.

Today my person is starting me on a medicine that will help me to not leak. I hope this helps quickly, because I leaked on the carpet on the landing last night, and also on the mat by the back door.

Turning Old is not fun. I would recommend that you not do it. (And I am only "middle aged"!!)

I survived!!!

I am so relieved! I am so happy! I made it! I survived!

My person took me away from Ojo, and she took me to the Terrible-Horrible-No-Good-Very-Bad-Place-Called-Vet.

At Terrible-Horrible-Vet they did Bad Things to me. And then they stole my blood! Can you believe it?

But now I am home. I am happy to be home. Hurray for being home! I love my home. I survived!!

My littlest person (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I would like to tell you about my littlest person (who isn't all that little actually).

She is very much fun. She plays with me! She runs with me! She feeds me yummy things! She throws Balls and toys!

She even lets me go on the couch when no one else is looking. Shhhh.

Here I am doing Wave (with my left paw, I can do both you know!). Because I am so talented my littlest person then gave me a blackberry that she found on our Walk. Isn't that awesome? Isn't she clever for finding sweet treats on our Walk?

I love my littlest person!!

I love my Food Ball!

This is my Food Ball! The people put kibble in it, and then I roll it around and around and around, and food comes out! Isn't that clever? I am very good at this.

Ojo has a Food Puzzle too. Hers is called Tug-a-Jug.

I do not like Tug-a-Jug as much as Food Ball because it takes me a long time (and much throwing of the stupid thing around) to get the food out. Food Ball is much more elegant.

However, Ojo has a special technique. She can empty Tug-a-Jug in under 3 minutes. So the people are going to get her something else that is more hard.

But I get to keep my Food Ball. Whew. I love my Food Ball!!

BEST THING EVER! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Something happened - the BEST THING EVER!!!

It started with a Walk with our people. (Which was fun too - lots of running, yippee!!) Then we got to a building. We stopped. We waited outside the building while one of our people went in.

I thought this was boring, but Cobi was very, very, very interested by this. Very interested. Very.

I wasn't sure why. I asked Cobi why she was so interested. "What's going on, Cobi?"

But she did not answer. She was too busy watching. And watching. And watching.

And then...
...it happened...
......and I knew why....

ICE CREAM!!!!

Do you see how nicely we Sit? How nicely we Wait? May we have some now please???

Ooooooohhhhhhh...

Dog Ice Cream! Ice Cream just for us! Just for us Dogs!

Hurray!! Cobi was right. This place is very interesting. I love Ice Cream!!!

More Ice Cream please!

My Hole (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I have perfected my technique for cool summertime napping!

This is a trick I learned in Alabama, before I came to live in Canada. But it has been very Hot here recently and so this trick has come in handy!

Here is how you do it: First you need to find a cool spot under a tree or bush. I recommend the dwarf Japanese maple trees in our Front Yard (they hang all the way down to the ground - perfect!), or the raspberry bushes in the Back Yard (pictured here).

Then you dig a hole. The hole must be as big as your body when you curl into a ball-shape, and deep enough to reach the cool, damp soil.

Do not let the people notice you digging a hole. Usually they say things like, "Stop!" or "Bad Dog!" So you must be very stealthy.

Once the hole is ready you can climb in and go to sleep.

And voila! That is how you keep cool in the summer!

I'm going back to my hole for another nap now... Zzzzzz......

Beach!

More time at the Beach!

Ojo makes big splashes in the water.

I only make little splashes. I am very sensitive to the water, you know!

Big den called "tent" (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Yesterday the people made a big den in the yard. They called this den "tent".

Two of my people slept in this den last night. I had to sleep inside, in my regular crate-den. This was not fair. I very much wanted to sleep in the big-den-called-tent with them last night!

Maybe next time I will be allowed, if I promise not to wiggle or bounce off the sides? (Even though it was very fun bouncing off the sides! They were very springy!! Wheeee!)

Pretty please? I will be Good. Let me stay with you in the den-called-tent!

Better thing to do with the Hose

THIS is a much better use for the Hose!

So cool. So refreshing.

So much FUN! More Hose please!!

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

The thing called Sprinkler

There is a thing called Sprinkler. It attaches to Hose. I am very intrigued by this. It is not as much fun we normally have with Hose, but perhaps I can still bite at it... Hmmm...

This is what my littlest person does with it!

Ojo helped.

Yes, it got me.

I bit at Sprinkler (many times), and Sprinkler sprayed me in the face (also many times). I'm not sure who won...

And then we had to get dry.

Me (by Ojo)

This picture of Me was taken by my littlest person. I am truly a great subject for her big black eye, am I not?

Uplands Park!

It is July now and that means something wonderful... The birds are done making babies and so Uplands Park is open to Dogs again!

Ojo and I love this Park! Let me show you around! Come on, this way!

This Park is amazing because it has many things. There are paths winding through tight trees with little streams. There are fields full of tall grasses. And there are dry areas with rocks and mosses and special trees called Garry Oaks.

There is so much to explore! We run and sniff and run and sniff.

Well, Ojo does most of the running. And bouncing. And flying.

It is very pretty in this Park.

I hope we get to go again soon!! Maybe next time you would like to come with us?

Juice! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! It has been very HOT! So my littlest person shared her juice with me!

It is very important to stay hydrated! Yummy!

Pee Ess The people want to say that it is a tiny bit of apple juice with lots of water. But I don't care what it is - it is just yummy!
