Sunrise Lake

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

We found a sunrise at the Lake! We like doing Walk first thing in the morning, when all the smells from the nighttime critters are still strong!

Fall is here

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! 

Fall is here again. Sun is waking up later, and Nature is making yellow leaves and chilly air. The oak trees are throwing acorns at me when I'm outside, and the squirrels are busy taking the acorns back up the trees to hide them for winter.

This morning, Lake was warm and the air was cold. This made something called mist on top of Lake!

Strange sun

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! This morning the sun was very strange!

My person couldn't smell it, but my much-superior nose could detect that there was ash in the air. Despite the strange sun, it was still a Very Good Day to be wading in the Lake!

Lake mornings

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Nature is starting to change to Fall. Lake is still warm though. I like to wade in it in the mornings!

What is Nature doing for you, friends?

Adventure!

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Today we went on an Adventure! Human friends put me and my person in a car that was also a little house. I got to sit on the back seat with my person!

Car-that-was-also-house drove us to somewhere new! This place had forest! This place had lake!

The people had snacks! They shared their snacks! They made music and sang songs!

Then something happened. My person went INTO the lake! 

She got further and further away! This wasn't good! I swam after her! I swam and swam and swam!

My person saw me, and she came back. This was very relieving. 

But then I got stuck in the lake-plants! And then I slipped on the rocks! And then I ran and ran and ran in wet zoomie circles!

(Okay, it was kind of fun. But kind of stressful. But still kind of fun.)

(There are no pictures of this because my person and I were both in lake, and I'm told the little black boxes that the humans have in their hands all the time don't like going into lakes.)

Then there were more snacks for me. And then another ride in car-that-was-also-house!

This time, car-that-was-also-house stopped somewhere that smelled delicious, like pizza! It also smelled like goats, because there were goats! And chickens! I got to go look at the goats and chickens, but I didn't care about them because there were also picnic tables, and under the picnic tables were crumbs!

And then we got back in car-that-was-also-house one more time and went home.

I liked sitting beside my person in car-that-was-also-house! I liked going somewhere new! I liked all the snacks the people shared! 

Now I am very tired and I am going to sleep for about three days.

Hi friends, Ojo here!

Nature is making HOT again. My Walks have all been by the water. 

On a different topic, my Grandpaw has crossed over the rainbow bridge. It was very sudden, and the people are very sad. I smelled it on my person's hands the day it happened, and I felt sad that day too. 

I miss Walks and pets and treats from my Grandpaw, but I am not sad anymore because I can feel that he is still here with me. He is with me when my person calls me "Poochkie", and when he convinces her to give me an extra bit of snack. He's with me when we're out on Walk, reminding my person to enjoy the beautiful day too.

I loved my Grandpaw very much. And he loved me too!

Nature has been making HOT! My Walks have been very early (hurray for early Walks!), and this morning I got to go in Lake (hurray for Lake!).

Lake Morning

This morning was Lake Morning! I am moving more slowly. My person isn't understanding why, so we're doing shorter Walks. However, I still got to sniff and explore! The air was cool and full of smells! It was a good morning to be at the Lake.

Good morning, friends. I had a Very Happy Moment in the lake! 

The water was warm and the air was crisp and fresh. Does it get any better than this? Ahhhh....

Good Day with a Good Stick in the Good Forest

Hi friends, Ojo here. Today was a Good Day. I found a Good Stick. It was in the Good Forest.

Also it was very foggy and quiet at the Good Lake today. The Good Lake is in the middle of the Good Forest. I had a Very Good Walk.

Not pictured: After our Good Walk we went for a visit to a Good Place with Good People where I got Good Belly Rubs and Good Snacks.

Did I mention that today was a Good Day?

What Good Things happened to you today, friends?

From way down there to way up here (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I jumped in a lake, and then we climbed high above the lake!

Look at all those trees! Look at all that water!

From way up here we can see way down there!

And the sun is very nice.

I would like to stay here a little longer, please.

The trick is...

When we go for a Walk at muddy-grass-big-fields-and-then-lake, we stop to do a Trick.

This Trick is very simple. Right now Lake is very full. There are people-benches that normally are on dry land, but right now these people-benches are out in the water. This is because Lake is too full.

Here is the trick. Our person wades out to a bench. She stands on it. We wade out too, in the cold, over-full lake. We put our paws up on the back of the bench. We get treats.

But here is the trick. Our person tells us that this is Fun, and Training. But we know the truth! The truth is this: After our walk through muddy-grass-big-fields, we are muddy-dogs. By getting us to wade into the Lake, our person is washing off all of our mud!

She thinks she is very clever. She thinks she has tricked us. But we know the truth!

So why do we do it? Why do we let her wash off all of our lovely, stinky, sticky mud? Because there is Cheese involved, of course!!

My Gotcha Day! (by Ojo)

Today is my Gotcha Day!

My people Gotcha'd me two whole years ago! That's practically forever! I have lived with them now for longer than I've ever lived anywhere else, and I think it might be forever more into the future too!

That's me and my youngest person in the field up above, and here is me with my youngest person in the Lake!

(Look, I am swimming! Aren't I amazing?? Cobi does not swim so this is something that I get to do alone with my youngest person!)

I used to live in the place called Shelter. Now I live in a place that has lakes for swimming in! Ratties for catching! (Right out our back door!) Forests for exploring! Fields for running in! Good food every day! Training games and treats! And cuddles on the couch with my people!

I love my family. Can I stay with them forever?

(I can??? Really??? HURRAY!!!)

Hijacked by Brody

Hello friends! Yes, it is me - Brody!

The people call me "old", but I prefer the word "wise". This is very important, because I was wise (and smart, and clever) enough to be able to hijack the Dog Blog. This came after I hijacked Cobi and Ojo's person.

That is correct, I hijacked their person and she took me on a Walk! Just ME! Just Brody. Hah. Who's old now?

We went to the Lake. This is because Nature is making HOT, like summer.

So we strolled (not because I'm old, but because we wanted to stroll) along the flat paths (not because I'm old, but because we felt like walking somewhere flat), and took lots of breaks for sniffing (not because I'm old, but because there were many interesting smells).

Then we turned around and strolled, slowly, back to the car.

I loved the lake! So many smells in the breeze!

But now it is time for my nap. Not because I am old, but because I enjoy naps. That is all.

The Lake is Happy! (by Ojo)

The Lake is happy to see me today, and I am happy to see the Lake! I love the Lake!

(So cool, and refreshing, and full of sticks, and for swimming and wading... Did I mention I love the Lake?)

Ojo

I know I make grumpy, grumbly noises about Ojo sometimes. Or often times. She is young, and she is pushy, and she runs too fast. All the time.

But she is my pack mate. My company. My friend. And don't ever tell her this, but sometimes (just sometimes) I think she is magnificent. Look at her leap from the water to catch the flying stick!

Shhh, don't tell her... But I do love her.
