The forest (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is my forest.

When I first arrived at my new home, I had never seen or smelled anything like this before!

I was afraid. The trees were so big! The smells were so big! The land was so big! I thought perhaps a monster would come out of the bushes and eat me. I stuck very close to my new people, and hid behind them if anything smelled or sounded or moved in a strange way.

But now I know my forest! It is full of life!

The trees and plants breathe in and out, very slowly. Water runs underground and overground. Sometimes the forest is full of sunlight, and sometimes it is full of fog.

The bugs scurry around, absolutely everywhere.

The birds flit through the trees, making noises and homes and babies. Little birds, and big birds too like eagles and owls, crows and ravens.

There are squirrels and bunnies, mice and rats, deer and raccoons. And other Dogs and people too!

I love my forest. It is magical!

New friend - Owl!

We have a new friend! Owl comes at night to hunt the ratties in our yard.

Ojo isn't so sure about this, because SHE likes to hunt the ratties. She bark-bark-bark-bark-barks at Owl when he is perched looking at our Yard. But this doesn't bother Owl. Owl just waits, patiently.

We have been hearing Owl for a while now, since way back before Christmas, because he screeches when he hunts! Us Dogs, of course, have been seeing Owl for a long time too. And Ojo has been bark-bark-barking at him. But this is the first time the people saw Owl, and they were very excited!

Our friend is called a Barred Owl. Isn't he pretty?

(He did not like the lights the people shone on him. They were very offensive to his eyes and his ability to hunt, so he left quite soon after this. But I am sure he'll be back!)

Squished

In the room called Office we have one Donut Bed. The Donut Bed is beside the heater, where it is warm. We also have a blanket, and a mat, and perch on the stairs, but these things are NOT by the heater where it is warm, and these things are NOT as comfy as our Donut Bed.

Did I mention that we only have ONE comfy warm Donut Bed? This is truly a problem.

PARK!!! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

We went to the PARK! We almost never get to go to the Park!

And we got to play with Balls at the Park! We haven't had Ball-chasing since our Beach days ended when Winter came!

Hurray for Balls and the Park!

(Please note that Cobi is not fetching! She does not fetch! She is just running with a Ball in her mouth!) (But I fetch! I am very clever!)

We went to the Park to celebrate two things!

First of all, the sun came out.
And second, Cobi is feeling a little better. (And the treats came back too!)

Also, this was a bonus fun-time! We'd already had our Walk, with Dog-friends Simon and Dixie, and then suddenly our collars went back on and it was Park time!

Hurray!!!

We love the Park! Can we do Park again soon please?

We are home and Cobi is sick (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi. Ojo here!

We are home!

But Cobi has been sick! Her poops have been exploding in the crate at night, and all over the place during the day too!

The people took her to see Vet. She is taking medicines. Also, the people have been feeding her chicken and rice instead of her usual food.

Chicken and rice is good, because I get some too! But this is also bad, because snacks and treats have been cut out for both of us! Apparently it is not fair if I get a treat and Cobi doesn't. But how is it fair that, just because Cobi is sick, I don't get snacks any more?

Cobi, please get better soon...

I catch a snowball! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Watch how athletic I am when I catch snowballs!

(Okay, so my person says that she worries when I twist like this. So I am not allowed to do it very often. But still, aren't I amazing???)

Not as bad as Cobi said! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Our Walk was nowhere near as bad as Cobi said it was! In fact, it was very pawesome!

All of my people came! I bounced and leapt and ran through the snow with them!

My littlest person (who isn't very little any more) is the most fun of all!

And yes, my paws did get cold little ice balls stuck in them. This was not fun, it is true, but when we took a break (with meat and cheese for snacks!), Momma C put me in her lap!

This warmed me all up!

So while Cobi was busy doing this...

I was doing THIS instead!!!

Hurray for snowy Walks with my people! And Happy New Year, friends!
