The new year

The people say it is a new year. Santa has come and gone. The snow has also come and gone. And I guess they are right about it being a new year, because little things like grass shoots are just starting to grow.

We have had rain. And rain. And more rain.

But today there was sun. This felt amazing on our fur.

We sniffed the new little grass shoots. We smelled the air. We listened to the birds, who are starting to get excited about finding partners and making nests.

I do not think Spring is here yet. I think there will be much more rain, and much more cold. But today it almost felt like it will be coming soon!

We can't see any green here. There is too much snow on the ground but the temps were moderate and the birdies were singing here too!

We want to move in with you. It has been too cold and now it is warmer but 20-40cm of snow may come this weekend.

We have the rope bottle tug. Hailey was 'gentle' with this and she figured out how to prop it on her bed, push the rope so all the treats fall out!

So good to have a wee foretaste of proper Spring.

It's been warming up here for a few days. I hope the snow doesn't all melt because I know there's a lot of mud, dead grass, and fossilized poo under it. But we're supposed to get a storm by the weekend. Woooo hoooo!

Stay warm, pups!

We think it must be like one of those trailers of movies coming soon to your neighbourhood!
