What beach?

Oh Beach
Where have you gone?

Where there is usually sand for running on,
Now there is deep, cold water.

Where there are usually critters and seaweed to sniff,
Now there are logs.

Where there is usually much room for playing and sniffing,
Now there is none.

We sit on a log
And we wonder
What does "super high winter tide" mean?

And when are you coming back,
Oh Beach?

We still wish we had a beach nearby. We enjoy seeing your beach photos, no matter how big or small it is.

Oh, Cobi, Oh, Ojo, I have been writing, too. While I am following the traditions of Emily Dickinson, I believe you are following the tradition of that other great poet, Walt Whitman.

Dear Ojo and Cobi,

We can't believe your beach ran away. We hope it comes back soon. Maybe you should get it micro-chipped so you can find it easier next time.
