Oh frosty morning!
Your cold ground
Holds many smells, crisp and clean
For us to sniff!
The bunny that ran here last night
The squirrel that ran here night
The deer that ran here last night
The mouse that ran here last night
And Ojo, who peed here this morning.
But
Oh frosty morning
There is one thing that is wrong.
Your drinking puddles
Are solid.
Or
Very cold.
This is not good.
Oh frosty morning!

Rain.
Today was Very Wet.
Our person still made us go on Walk, even though Nature was making lots and lots and lots of rain. And also big winds, so the rain was going sideways, and tree branches were crashing down around us.
We could have been hurt! We could have been blown away by the wind! We could have been swept away by the water! We could have been crushed by a tree branch!
Instead of paths to walk along, we had rivers of water.
I would like to go back to the snow, please.

Away! In the Land of Ice and Snow...
Dear friends,
We are back! But we were Away.
While we were Away, we found something amazing. Something wonderful.
SNOW!!
Okay, so I don't look very happy there. But let me explain...
We got in Truck. We drove for a very long time. When we got out of Truck, we found the snow!
I was so very happy! I bounced! I pranced! I rolled in the snow, over and over again. I love snow!!!
The next day we went for our Walk. We did Walk for a very long time. It was sunny, and the snow held so many interesting smells!
Also Momma C made some bird-friends. This was interesting too!
That day was AMAZING.
The next day, when we woke up, our little house was shaking. The wind was howling! The snow was blowing!
Our person said, Time to go for our Walk!
Ojo said, No-thank-you. I am comfy right here.
Our person said, Come on, it will be fun!
I said, No-thank-you. I am comfy right here. (Even though my bowl is tragically empty.)
But finally our person talked us into going outside for our Walk.
Outside it was CRAZY! The snow was coming down so fast that we got buried in it!
Also, I had an incident.
Our person was throwing snowballs for Ojo. I wanted to chase snowballs too, so I tried to join them. But when I stepped forward, the whole world disappeared!
I heard my person calling. Cobi, where are you? Come back, girl!
I tried, but the whole world was white! I jumped as high as I could! And again, and again! Finally my head poked out, but only my head. The snow was so deep that I had disappeared!
I called for help, but my person was too busy laughing. So I had to get myself out. This took much work!
After, my person explained that she'd wanted to help, but she could not find me. And then all she could see were my ears, popping in and out of the snow. This is what made her laugh.
Humans are useless.
But still, we had much fun bouncing and zooming in the snow. And chasing snowballs!
Ojo is from Alabama. She asked me, Cobi, what is that on your face?
I told her, It is snow, Ojo. The same thing that is on YOUR face!
Oh, she said.
So while I think it was not very nice of my person to laugh when I got eaten by the snow bank, I still think it was worth getting out of our comfy beds. Snow! Rolling! Zooming! Chasing! Snowballs! Birds!
Oh, and this! Bear tracks!!!
Now we are home. Now there is only wind and rain.
Sigh.
Can we go back to the Land of Ice and Snow again soon??? (But maybe no more snow banks. Thank you.)

Queen of the Mountain
Oh Fall!
Your yellow light
Shines on all I can see.
But I can smell even more
Because my nose is amazing.
Oh Fall
I am Queen of the Mountain!
And all I can see
And all I can smell.
Right?
Right.
Oh Fall.

Shines on all I can see.

And all I can smell.

Sometimes I wonder...
...what happens when my person clicks the button on her big black eye called "camera"? Does it steal some of my soul? Or does it just freeze me in time, forever and ever?

I can hunt too
Dear friends,
Ojo likes to hunt. This past week she has caught two big fats rats and a bunny. The people were not very happy about the bunny, but they were extremely pleased about the rats.
The ratties live in our Yard, under the chicken coop. Each time Ojo catches one the people make a Very Big Deal. They get very excited. They tell her what a Good Dog she is. They give her many treats.
And they forget about me, Cobi.
So I decided to hunt too.
I cornered a spider in the kitchen. This was very much work, friends! Spiders are fast!
I stood over the spider for many minutes before the people finally noticed. But when they noticed, they just laughed.
This was no good. I showed them again by poking the spider with my nose. Look what a good hunter I am too!
This time they understood. They gave me much praise. They told me I was a Good Dog. But they forgot the treats.
Sigh.
