Office was at home today, which made my day very busy

Today I stayed home with Momma B. Apparently Office is now at our house-den!

I liked this very much. I was very busy.

I slept in my bed. I watched the ratties. I slept on the floor. I watched the ratties. I slept on the porch in the sun. I watched the ratties.

It was a very busy day!

Sunshine Blog Award

Two dogs gave me the Sunshine Blog Award!

Thank-you Garth Riley (trick dog philosopher!) and Sheba!

There are three rules for the Sunshine Award:
1. Answer 7 questions
2. Pass it on to ten people
3. Let them know they received the award.

1) What is your favourite number?
One because I have one nose, and because there is only one me!

2) Favourite non alcoholic beverage?
Water. That's all the people let me drink. Oh, and milk sometimes too.

3) Facebook or Twitter?
I do not know these things of which you speak. Do they go to the Dog Park?

4) What is your favourite passion?
Chasing dogs who are running.

5) What is your favourite pattern?
The sun on the floor that I can sleep in.

6) What is your favourite day of the week?
The days which I do not go to Office and instead stay home with my people.

7) What is your favourite flower
Flowers smell yucky. I like stinky things better like dead things or pee markings from other dogs.

Now I have to pass on the award to ten other blogs. I don't know if I can count that high (unless there are treats), so Momma B will help me.

Ratties and jumping and Simon - oh my!

Today was a very happy day.

First of all I got to stay home with Momma B. She was being pretty boring because she just sat at the table all day and stared at a little glowing screen.

But I know how to have fun. I spent most of the day outside watching the ratties!

Then I had Dinner. After dinner we got in Car. When Car stopped we were at a very big field. I played with a little puppy for a while until he got annoying. Then Momma B took me to my own field where we played with Ball.

And then suddenly I became aware of something. Something awesome. I ran as fast as I could...

...and Simon was there!

We met each other with crash-run-play-chase-wrestle. We got to do that for a little bit, then I had to wait in Car while Momma B played with other dogs. I was Good Dog in Car and so after a while I got to come out again. And now there was fun stuff to play on in the field!

I did Jump. I did Tunnel. I did Teeter. Then I did figure-eight-jump. Then I did tunnel-jump-tunnel!

This was very much fun.

Then I sat and watched Simon for a bit.

He is very fast. He was beautiful to watch.

But I really wanted to go chase him. I made big whine-bark-whine noises, and then suddenly I was in Car again.

But that was okay. It wasn't for long, and then I got to come out again, and then Simon and I played!

This is a good way to spend the evening. Can we do this again tomorrow night Momma B?

Where do people go when they're missing?

Both Momma C and my littlest person are missing. Momma B is still here, but everyone else is gone. Their smells are fading from the big-den-called-house, almost as if they were never here.

Where do people go when they're "missing"?

Do they still exist? Are they out there somewhere else, leaving their scent for other dogs to sniff?

Or do they just disappear, and then reappear one day?

What fills the empty space when they go?

And most important of all, do they miss their dogs when they're gone?

Le Sigh

Le Sigh.

What does a CAT need to do around here to get some petting?

How about a snack? Second dinner?

What about my brush? If I lounge here and look pretty will you get my brush?

I am NOT like that dog-thing down there. Yes, that thing. With the big ugly nose.

No! I am CAT! Beautiful and graceful.

A CAT never says "please", you know. We just deserve these things by virtue of our nature as CAT. Food, petting, treats.

Humans, it is time to feed the CAT now!

Of dogs and rats

The little ratties are fast. I am Dog. I am a hunter. I should be able to catch the little ratties. But the little ratties are fast.

Best place in the world

I am a lucky dog. I live in the best place in the whole world.

Today Momma B asked me if I wanted to go to Beach or to Forest. It didn't matter to me, so she took me to Mt. Doug.

Look how great it is!

Rocks to climb, grasses and trees to sniff, and waaaay over there is the beach. My nose caught whiffs of beach and salt water, even from the top of the mountain.

In the forest, something amazing happened. I was walking with Momma B being a Good Dog and all of a sudden - Simon was there!

We hung out together for a little while.

Oh, and dog-friend Dixie was there too!

Then some big dogs came along. Simon smells so wonderful to me, but for some reason one of the big dogs didn't like how he smells. Simon got a bit scared and so his person (whose name is Trainer) said "Let's go" and they went away.

Momma B made me walk in the opposite direction. This was very sad.

For the next little while I could smell where Simon had been, but his trail was going in the opposite direction. I kept turning around and asking Momma B if we could go find him again. My nose is good, I could have told her exactly where he went to. But she wouldn't let me.

After a while I couldn't smell Simon anymore and I forgot about him. And then we climbed one of the mountains. Climbing is one of my favourite things!

 Here is Momma B.

I'm not sure if she has that wrinkle on her forehead because she her nose isn't as good as mine and she has trouble smelling the wonderful things in the breeze, or if it's because she was annoyed because my face kept getting in the way of her big-black-eye.

I can't help it! I just always want to see what she is doing!

But she never gets mad at me. And she's always happy to be out in this wonderful place, just like I am!

We really do live in the best place in the world!

Boss of Office

Today Momma C took me to Office. Then she left.

At first I was very worried. Where was Momma C? There were other people there, but not MY people.

After a while I realized that if Momma C wasn't there, then I could be the Boss of Office. Momma C always makes me do Settle in my bed in the den under her desk. But she wasn't there!

I pulled my bed out from the den and put it in the middle of Momma C's space. I made big noises and pushed it around and made it just right. Then I was tired, so I did Settle anyways.

I am now Boss! I will wait here for you Momma C.

Juno and the park

Tonight we went to my Park. Juno was there.

I love chasing Juno. She doesn't mind me chasing because I never steal her ball. Her job is Fetch, mine is Chase.

I love it when Juno is at the Park!

Important errands

This morning I helped my person do "Errands".

First we did something called "Recycling". This is where I sit in the car while Momma B carries around bags stuffed with plastic that smells like stale food. Other people that I don't know take these bags from her and put them in bigger bags. They seem very happy to get this Recycling from us, so I guess this is a good thing.

Next we did a very important Errand.

This errand is called "Walk Dog". Or in this case, "run with dog in a big field with Ball".

This was a very tiring Errand. We had to take many rests.

Momma B hung out with me in grass. The grass was wonderfully damp and cool and full of good smells. I'm not sure why she didn't spend more time smelling. But she seemed to prefer to play with her big-black-agressive-eye, and also with my Ball. People are funny that way.

Then, just because we still had some time, we went in search of another Errand.

I found one for us. It was also very important. It was called Chew Stick.

Some other dog forgot their stick in the grass here. It was only half eaten. I had to help finish it.

This was a very big job, but I am always happy to help. I am a Good Dog!
