Hot again

Hi friends, Ojo here!

Nature is making HOT again. My Walks have all been by the water.

On a different topic, my Grandpaw has crossed over the rainbow bridge. It was very sudden, and the people are very sad. I smelled it on my person's hands the day it happened, and I felt sad that day too.

I miss Walks and pets and treats from my Grandpaw, but I am not sad anymore because I can feel that he is still here with me. He is with me when my person calls me "Poochkie", and when he convinces her to give me an extra bit of snack. He's with me when we're out on Walk, reminding my person to enjoy the beautiful day too.

I loved my Grandpaw very much. And he loved me too!

Time with my youngest person

Hi friends! Ojo here! When I was in big-house-in-the-city last month I got to spend lots of time with my youngest person. This was very happy! We did many things together, including hanging out, snacking, and playing chase! We also climbed a mountain. Don't we look beautiful together?

I love my youngest person!

Old, the Big Mountain, and my person

Today I felt Old.

We climbed the Big Mountain. And I love climbing the Big Mountain! I can smell the whole city from up there! But today my hips were stiff, and my shoulders were stiff, and it took me a very long time. But we made it!

Ojo, on the other hand, did not take a very long time. She went up and down and up and down and up and down, all while my person and I were just slowly going up.

Look at her muzzle. Does she not look older than me? Does she not look greyer than me?

Sadly she is still younger. And I think I am getting Old.

But look at her. She wants to climb again, pretty please, she says. I do not think so. I am done climbing for now.

Thank you, my person, for going slowly with me so I could still climb the Big Mountain. Thank you, my person, for giving me medicine when I got home so I'm not so stiff. (And I will pretend I did not hear you calling Vet to book me an appointment to see if they can help me be less-stiff.)

We will keep Walking together for a long time, right?

I am NINE!

I am nine years old! My person forgot to post this on my birthday. I guess she is getting old too. For my birthday we climbed a mountain! (I love to climb. But I don't love going down as much.)

I am awesome, because I can still climb high even though I am old and wise and NINE!

(It takes all four paws, both my ears, both my eyes, and my tail to count to nine! That is a lot!)

I am very wise now. You should listen to me when I give advice!

Here I am with my person on top of the world on my birthday.

Damaged person

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

My littlest person (who is actually very tall now) has damaged herself! I help by standing in front her when she's on crutches, and by getting as close as I can when she's doing homework. I am sure I am helping her get better faster!

Santa is coming soon! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

My person is very sick, so she hasn't been able to help us with Blog. In fact we've barely been getting Walks... But at least we've been getting food puzzles to keep us occupied! (Hurray for food puzzles!)

Our person is slowly getting better, and guess what? Christmas is coming!!!

Christmas means Santa, and Santa means our dog-paw stockings will get filled with yummy-to-eat treats and chews! (I was good this year, I swear!) I can hardly wait!

There are also two presents under the tree that say "To Ojo" and "To Cobi". I am a Very Good Dog, so I have left the one that says "To Ojo" alone. I did however pick up the one that says "To Cobi" and take it to one of my people, just in case we were allowed to open it! But I was told no, we have to wait until Christmas. That is still four whole days away!

For Christmas this year I am hoping for snow! And yummy things to eat! And something that squeaks! And maybe some turkey, too!

I do not need a Couch of my own this year because I've been allowed on the one we have! It is my job to to snuggle with my sick person on the Couch to help her get better!

(And do not worry, Grandma - I promise I will not sleep on your Couch! I will be Good!!)

Is Christmas coming to your house too? Or maybe some other holiday celebration??

Selfie

I did some selfies with my person!

I am very patient, to stop and do selfies when there is so much to sniff. I think that deserves cheese, don't you?

Eyebrows! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I noticed something the other day. Cobi has eyebrows! Light eyebrows that go up and down and all around, and show what she is thinking! Especially when she is mad!

I do not have eyebrows. My face (apart from my mouth) is all black. This is not fair.

So my littlest person helped!

What do you think? Am I not more expressive now? Am I not more serious? More clever-looking?

My new eyebrows even wiggled up and down when I moved my eyes, just like Cobi's!

(By the way, in case you were about to feel sorry for me, these things stuck to my face did not bother me at all! I always have things stuck to my face. Usually it's twigs and branches and leaves and bug-bits and spider webs, all from running through the bushes. So these things? Nothing different! No problem at all! I could have had them on all day!)

Here I am with my littlest person (who is now as tall as my other people). What do you think? Aren't I smart-looking?

What do you mean, you're going to take them off now? No thank you! I would like to keep my eyebrows!

It's my Gotcha Day! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Today is my Gotcha Day! I have been with my people for THREE YEARS!

This is the picture that the shelter and the rescue group showed of me, before I was Gotcha'd:

This is what Shelter said about me: "Willemina (yes, that is what they called me, don't laugh!) is very sweet, playful, good w other dogs, happy & bouncy."

My people saw my picture with my soft, gentle face, and they saw that write-up, and they decided to meet me!

First I lived with a family. Then I lived on the streets. Then I lived in Shelter where they called me Willemina. Then I lived in Foster-Home-in-Alabama. Then I had to go on an airplane which was very scary. Then I lived in Foster-Home-in-BC where they called me Willie. Then finally my people took me home! They called me Ojo. That is much better.

I was very smart, but my smartness was for things like stealing food off the counter and hiding valuables in the yard. So my people took me to class where I learned to use my smartness in different ways that were less annoying to them! (And still fun for me! Training is awesome!)

I love my family! I am so happy they chose to Gotcah me!

Long drives are Not Good (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

I do not like long drives. They are Not Good. They are boring and yucky and I always get stuck in the middle.

Are we there yet?

Sigh. I will just lie down and take up the whole middle then. (Are we there yet?)

Happy birthday to my littlest person! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Today is my littlest person's birthday! (Although I do not know why Cobi and I call her our littlest person, because really she is very big!)

My littlest person got presents! This is because it is her birthday.

I wish I knew when my birthday was so that I could get presents too! But it's not that bad, because my littlest person shared! She got the insides of the presents, and I got the outside! I love ripping up wrapping paper! This was fun!

Cobi hung out with Grandma. And yes, since this was a Special Occasion we were even allowed on the couch!

Cobi does not like tearing wrapping paper, although sometimes she does like to eat it. Instead she was busy waiting for Cake, because that happens on birthdays too!

Is it Cake time yet?

Happy birthday to my littlest person! I love you very much!

Not as bad as Cobi said! (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Our Walk was nowhere near as bad as Cobi said it was! In fact, it was very pawesome!

All of my people came! I bounced and leapt and ran through the snow with them!

My littlest person (who isn't very little any more) is the most fun of all!

And yes, my paws did get cold little ice balls stuck in them. This was not fun, it is true, but when we took a break (with meat and cheese for snacks!), Momma C put me in her lap!

This warmed me all up!

So while Cobi was busy doing this...

I was doing THIS instead!!!

Hurray for snowy Walks with my people! And Happy New Year, friends!

An embarrassing thing

Something embarrassing happened...

I always say that I am a Husky Dog. That I am very good in snow.

But today there was something wrong. The snow was funny. It was making crystals, like this:

And while the air was quite warm, the snow itself was terrible, horrible, and no good. It made little balls between the pads of our paws. These hurt! Plus our paws were freezing cold!

I decided that I am not a Husky Dog any more.

Momma C had to rescue me. She carried me almost the whole way home.

Thank you, Momma C.

Can you fix the snow for tomorrow, please? Today was no fun at all.

I love my littlest person! (by Ojo0

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is my littlest person! (Who is not very little any more.)

I love her very much! (She is silly, just like me!)
