Pepper came on our Snow Walk!

Guess what? Pepper came on our Snow Walk today! 

He loves Snow too!

Pepper played with other Dogs while I waited with my person. He can zoom faster than I can these days, but we still a Very Good Walk sniffing and exploring and making yellow Snow!

At first I was very cautious, because I didn't know how Legs would do with Snow. Snow is very slippery! And it is hard work!

But Legs were Very Happy today! They felt strong! It was very good to be out in Snow!

COLD! And a little bit of Snow

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

Nature is making Big Cold! It was -15C here when I went outside for my morning pee. (That's 5F for my American friends!) And there was a Very Cold Wind!

This is Very Cold for where I live now. But those of you who have known me for a long time know that I lived in Little House on the Mountain for a while. There it was Very Cold and there was Very Much Snow for many months at a time. So this Cold is just fine for me.

The sad part is that there was only a teeny, tiny amount of Snow today. 

Despite the sadly small amount of Snow, Pepper came with us on Walk today.

I would have preferred more Snow and less Cold, thankyouvermuch. But Pepper doesn't care. He loves Snow - any Snow! (And also the Cheese my person was handing out for us Sitting nicely.)

Do you have Snow right now? If so, could you please send ME some? I would like more Snow, please!

The Big Wind and the Happy Snow

Hi friends, Ojo here!

We had a Big Storm. With the Big Storm came the Big Wind. I do not like the Big Wind. It makes the whole house shake. I had to hide in my person's bed all night. It was very scary!

But the next day, when I hopped out of my person's bed, I found that there was a lot of happy snow on the ground!

I will forgive the storm for the wind since it brought the perfect amount of happy snow.

Too much snow

Dear friends, I love the snow. But sometimes, when the snow is deeper than my head, I think there is such a thing as Too Much Snow.

Have you ever had too much snow?

The humans are weird. But we found snow!

Hi friends, Ojo here! 

A few days ago Car took us to our little-house-on-the-mountain. There is SNOW here! 

But then yesterday the people packed everything up, we got back into Car, and we started to head back to big-house-in-the-city. But then we stopped. Car turned around, and we went back to little-house-on-the-mountain. The people unpacked again.

Today the people packed everything up, we got back into Car, but nothing happened. I lounged in the back of Car, with the door open, for a long time. Finally the people unpacked again.

This was very weird. Humans are weird.

Since we did these random things, we now have extra time at our little-house-on-the-mountain. Today with our extra time we went for a most amazing Walk! The sun was shining! The snow was all hard and crusty and I didn't sink so I could walk anywhere and everywhere! 

On our Walk we climbed up to the Lake! There were chipmunks for chasing, and lots of things to dig out of the snow! If the humans are being weird, at least we get to go on snowy Walks! 

(Note from the human: There has been massive flooding here after a big storm. The roads were open earlier in the day yesterday, but then the rivers swelled and flooded and the roads got closed in multiple locations. In parts of our province entire sections of the highway have been washed away. Today the route home was open in a limited capacity, but then just as we were about to leave we found out that everything was either closed again or about to close. We are stuck. At least little-house-on-the-mountain is a nice place to be stuck! And we are safe.)

The Climb and The Rest

Hi friends! Ojo here!

We are still living in little-house-on-the-mountain, but only for a few more days. Before we leave, my person wanted to climb the Big Mountain behind our little house at least one last time.

(In case anyone is wondering, this big mountain is called "ski hill". Dogs are not allowed here in the winter, but we can go here in the summer!)

I LOVE climbing the Big Mountain! There are so many smells! So many birds! So many little critters! 

Later in the summer there will be wild blueberries and when there are blueberries I eat them the whole way until my tummy is full of blueberries! 

This time there were no blueberries, but there was still a lot of Snow! I love Snow!

I took a break on top of the Big Mountain on this Little Mountain of Snow. It was a good place to rest and cool my tummy, which got hot from all the running up hill!

Not enough sharing

We went on a Big Walk. The people brought snacks. They only shared a little bit. Since it was a Big Walk I think there should have been Big Sharing, don't you agree?

Come on, please? Look how nicely I am sitting here waiting for you to share your snack!

Also I would like to show you our Snow compared to last year. Even though it is melting we still have Very Much Snow!!

Sun, snow and sniffing

Hi friends! Ojo here! Today there was sun, snow, and sniffing. This was a good day. That's it, bye for now!

Now I have a handle, sigh

A package came for me! I was very excited! Was it treats? A toy? 

But, sadly, the contents were not that good.

My package was a new harness. There is nothing wrong my old harness! But Momma C wants me to have a handle on my back. She says that the snow is melting. She says there are tree wells I could fall into. She says soon there will be running water under the snow I could fall into. And she wants me to have a handle so they can fish me out.

Can you believe it?!? ME?!?!? With a handle!?!?

I would like to say that I have never, ever gotten stuck and needed pulling out. Cobi used to get stuck. And Momma B is the one who kept falling into the snowy creek last fall. Not ME!

But now I have a handle. Sigh.

Okay, yes, I don't look too unhappy. 

I did not like it at first. I did not like how it goes under my belly. When they first put it on I puffed out my belly like a Horse getting a saddle put on. And then it seemed like my body was stuck and I could not move, like a Cat with something funny on its body.

But then we went outside and I totally, completely forgot about the harness. With the handle.

It turns out I can still run. And sniff. And play. And roll!

But don't tell anyone. It's kind of embarrassing to have a handle.

Snow and sandwiches

Hi friends! Ojo here! 

We still have Very Much Snow! It is now crunchy and hard so I can mostly walk on top. This is much better because I can go pretty much anywhere!

Also the chipmunks are very busy running around right now! Also it was sunny and warm! Also I found half a sandwich in the snow! Also I found an apple core in the snow!

Wait, how did you know where I ran off to hide so I could eat my sandwich?

I love crunchy snow that I can zoom on top of that is full of apple cores and sandwiches! I love warm sunshine on my belly and cold snow on my back! What a happy day!!!

Too Much Snow!

Hi friends, Ojo here! 

I never thought I would ever say this because I didn't think it was even possible... 

But last night we had Too Much Snow! The snow is deeper than my head! 

The people are saying that there are three feet of snow. Maybe even more. This doesn't make sense to me. People have two feet, Dogs have four feet. How can snow have three feet? 

Still it's a lot.

There are two problems with this much snow.

First, my person spent hours and hours moving it around with a shovel. These are hours she spent outside while I had to wait inside.

Second, because the snow is deeper than my head I cannot go anywhere in it! There is nowhere to run and nowhere to play! There wasn't even anywhere to pee and poop this morning! 

Fortunately my person made a flat area for peeing and pooping. This is important. But so is running and playing, and all I could do today was follow behind my person in her slow and boring path.

To show you our snow, my person says I can share these pictures with you. This is my friend, Car, in the snow this morning:

Car couldn't take us anywhere fun today either!

Look very closely at that picture. Do you see the snow hat on top of Car? My person says it was two feet! 

And it is still snowing! Have you ever had Too Much Snow??

(My person would like to add that she had already cleared the snow from the porch twice today. This was the third time!)

Snow, and more snow, and rain, and more snow

 Hi friends, Ojo here! 

We have had SNOW! And more snow! Then rain. Then snow. Then rain. Then snow. Then rain. Then more snow! And a big storm!

Do you see the snow up to my chest? It was even higher this afternoon, almost over my head! I had to follow in my person's tracks.

It is a good thing I love snow! I don't even mind the rain! But snow is better!

I like snow

We have been having lots of rain. But we have also had snow! Snow is much more fun than rain.

I like snow a lot. I hope we have more snow and less rain.
