The forest (by Ojo)

Hi hi hi! Ojo here!

This is my forest.

When I first arrived at my new home, I had never seen or smelled anything like this before!

I was afraid. The trees were so big! The smells were so big! The land was so big! I thought perhaps a monster would come out of the bushes and eat me. I stuck very close to my new people, and hid behind them if anything smelled or sounded or moved in a strange way.

But now I know my forest! It is full of life!

The trees and plants breathe in and out, very slowly. Water runs underground and overground. Sometimes the forest is full of sunlight, and sometimes it is full of fog.

The bugs scurry around, absolutely everywhere.

The birds flit through the trees, making noises and homes and babies. Little birds, and big birds too like eagles and owls, crows and ravens.

There are squirrels and bunnies, mice and rats, deer and raccoons. And other Dogs and people too!

I love my forest. It is magical!

Your forest is gorgeous, Ojo and Cobi! We wish we could run without our leashes on like the two of you do!

You have the most beautiful forest, more beautiful then ours. We figured out the bed issue. Ok, you were not cuddling but the bed has some bad magically power that pulled you to it and held you in. Maybe the bed is powered by Bigfoot. We don't know. But that is what must have happened.

My humans have tried to recreate a forest around our house. When they first moved here there were no trees anywhere. Now, 32 years later the trees have gotten huge. In summer you can look out the window and not see the neighbor's house because of the trees!

Sounds like a lovely place for a walk! That would make an awesome blog hop - "A walk in the woods with my dog."
